West Route, Blossum Jct.
Description:
SBD 8187 pauses at Blossum Jct. with a southbound freight. this is the former SAL mainline, now known as the West Route of CSX. At this time, the Everett Sub south of Ogeechee is still in service, but the end was very near. I was told all Trains were rerouted to the A Line in November of 1985. Today mostly Pig trains, Coal Trains, and Amtrak run here. Freights use the A Line v ia Southover Yard.
