What a surprise!!! F Units on a Train coming by Central Jct. Savannah, Georgia We were completely surprised as there was no talk on the Scanner about them...suddenly there they were!!! It is Summer 1986 and they are still wearing SBD Paint, but CSX has become "official" and indeed you WILL see CSX on the side of Boxcars, Hopper Cars, Flat Cars, and Locomotives!!! By September, these will be wearing the new CSX Paint scheme. WE consider trying to chase this Train, but it was a Pig Train, and there are numerous Traffic Lights in the area, so this had to be our only shot. |

It will set out some cars and pick up some too before continuing north towards Spartanburg. Yes, I remember it well. It was in Trains magazine. "You will never see CSX on the side of a Boxcar!!!" That didn't hold any water!!! |

The Track in the background is the former C&WC mainline and also ACL. In 1973, the Tracks were consolidated through here and the C&WC was abandoned. The lines split again at SALAK Jct. |
